PPM at the 13th Odonto stomatological Day in Abidjan

From 25 to 27 June, PPM Laboratories took an active part in the 13th Vilasco Odonto‑stomatological Day held at the Odonto‑stomatological Consultation and Treatment Centre (CCTOS) of the Université Félix Houphouët‑Boigny in Abidjan. The event brought together nearly one hundred professors, senior lecturers, dentists, PhD candidates and students.

The opening ceremony, marked by a keynote lecture from Professor Koffi Gnagné Yolande, head of the Odonto‑stomatology faculty, set the scientific tone for the congress. Immediately afterwards, authorities and participants toured the exhibition stands, giving PPM instant visibility with academic decision‑makers and practitioners.

During the first day, the PPM stand welcomed 77 visitors, including professors, senior lecturers, assistant lecturers, dentists, PhD candidates and students. The presence of key opinion leaders such as Dr Maroua Gilles Thierry, Master Kouamé Tuo Valérie, Dr Kouyaté and Dr Koffi Armel fostered in‑depth discussions around PPM’s solutions. The visit by a representative of the Minister was a highlight for the team, perceived as a strong signal of institutional recognition.

Septyl mouthwash drew particular attention, with highly positive feedback from professors and senior lecturers. Demand was strong enough to cause a stock‑out at La Paix pharmacy, located on the university campus, leading Ms Kouamé, head of purchasing, to place an additional order for 60 boxes. In parallel, the PPM team used quieter moments to present products directly in practitioners’ offices, multiplying personalised contacts.

Kinal Codeine, for its part, sparked more nuanced discussions. Some professors expressed reservations about codeine‑based combinations, citing tolerance issues among certain patients, while others acknowledged the product’s therapeutic interest. PPM thus identified the need to further strengthen its scientific communication in order to provide clear, documented answers to these concerns.

One of the most promising outcomes of this participation was securing an appointment with Professor Gnagné, dean and head of the faculty, to explore a partnership. This project is part of a broader strategy to reinforce PPM’s presence at CCTOS and Vilasco, two centres that together receive between 250 and 300 patients per day.
